De Vere Mottram Hall Golf Course is a course of two nine-hole loops.
Holes one to nine are played on relatively flat meadowland, with a generous
proportion of specimen oak and beech trees including the oldest known oak
tree in Cheshire, which is situated close to the fourth tee. The back nine
in contrast is densely wooded and has gently undulating fairways which lead
to generous but well guarded greens. The course is unusual as each half opens and closes with par fives, therefore giving the golfer a challenge right from the start and an opportunity to finish with a blaze of glory. Although the course |
caters for golfers of all handicaps, its 7006 yards ensures a fair test
for the lower handicap golfer, with many holes demanding an accurately placed
shot, to guarantee a par.
The 4* Mottram Hall is an
elegant 18th Century Georgian House, set in 270 acres of beautiful secluded
countryside with its own formal gardens, lake, parkland, 18 hole Championship
golf course and FA accredited football pitch. The hotel retains many of its
original architectural features combined discreetly with all the facilities
and service you would expect. Recent investment of £2 million in creating
superb new bedrooms which combine classic with contemporary design has
ensured that the hotel retains its top position in the area. With the course
now fully matured Mottram Hall is a golfer's paradise! The first 9 outward
holes are in attractive parkland and the back inward 9 are in more demanding
woodland, representing a challenge for all standards of golfer and unusually
both halves open and close with par fives. You will also find a chipping
area, putting green, driving range and buggies complete with state of the art
technology 'Sat Nav'.
The hotel has
132 bedrooms, ranging from suites with a separate lounge, spacious executive
doubles, four posters and standard doubles or twins. Some rooms are available
with patio doors overlooking the lake. All rooms have bath, showers, hair
dryer, direct dial telephone, Sky TV, Tea/Coffee facilities, trouser press
and ironing board & iron.
At
De Vere Mottram Hall you have a choice of dining options, enjoy the elegant
restaurant 'Nathaniel's' which offers the ultimate in fine dining, freshly served
food in a perfect setting. Alternatively you can enjoy the more informal
atmosphere of the 'Terrace Café Bar' and of course the stylish 'Brasserie'
situated in the golf clubhouse with its stunning balcony and superb views
over the surrounding golf course.
